My model English Express in .404 Jeffery. This one with extended top and bottom tangs. Flat top checkering. Flat top is different from diamond top. Instead of V grooves, U grooves are cut. It makes for a different feel.

This is a large rifle. I pay close attention to building my rifles proportionate, with the goal to maintain a nice flow, no matter the caliber. This is one of the many challenges involved in gun building, experience plays such a large part. After doing this for 38 years, I’m still striving daily to improve. And there is still so much left to be learned!
